Hot, dry June to get drier in Pembina Valley

While some Canadian regions are still recovering from devastating floods earlier this spring, several communities in south-central Manitoba face the opposite problem: not enough rain.

Thousands of people who rely on water from the Pembina Valley Water Co-op south of Winnipeg are being asked to limit their water use amid a harsh dry spell.

The notice is in effect for the communities of Winkler and Altona, and the rural municipalities of Montcalm and Stanley, Municipality of Rhineland and Emerson Franklin.
