The following conditions relate to the construction and use of fire pits in Kindersley, as outlined in the Fire Prevention Bylaw 23-09.

1. Only charcoal and clean, non-treated wood is permitted for burning.

2. Fires must be contained in a non-combustible receptacle made of concrete, brick, stones, or sheet metal, with a maximum diameter of 82 cm (32”).

3. All receptacles must be located on private property at a distance of at least 3 m (9.8 ft) from any property line, building, or other combustible structure.

4. Fire pits must be separated from grass and other vegetation by at least 40 cm

Portable Fire Pits

Cheminea (front-loading stoves) and portable fire pits are not to be used in any of the following locations:

a) Apartment balconies
b) Indoors
c) On wooden decks
