Environment Canada has issued a special weather alert for Kindersley and Rosetown areas. Funnel clouds are a possibility this afternoon as a low pressure system moves in from Alberta. These types of funnel clouds are generated by a weak rotation and are normally not a danger near the ground. However, the rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado.

Normally landspout tornadoes do not cause significant damage but they can still be potentially dangerous. Landspout tornadoes are strong enough to damage roofs, uproot trees and throw debris short distances.

Treat any funnel cloud seriously. Please be advised to follow all safety precautions and take shelter if a funnel cloud should develop near you. These types of funnel clouds generally appear with little or no warning.
