Riding on their sixth win in a row, the Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers are ready to crest a seventh as they prepare for their match up with the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

Over the course of the season you want your ups to more be than your downs, and right now that is what we are experiencing.” Says Coach Geoff Grimwood, “We are definitely enjoying it, but we can’t get too comfortable, we’ve got to keep doing the same hard work that leads to these wins.”

It was on Wednesday that the Kindersley Klippers faced off against the Humboldt Broncos, earning their sixth win. Right at the start, Broncos Carson Pickett scored the first goal of the game, giving the Klippers the realization that it wasn’t going to be an easy game. After some fierce playing, Klippers Trevor Posch put the Klippers on the board, tying them at 1-1 at the end of the first period. Rolling into the second, Cole Plotnikoff inched the Klippers forward 2-1. A Broncos penalty shot evened the scoreboard out to 2-2. Brody Ryberg pulled the Klippers ahead and Cole Plotnikoff saved the game from overtime as he slammed the last goal home, landing the Klippers 4-3, in the last minute of the game.

While the team is obviously excited about their string of victories, Coach Grimwood noted that they have a tough game coming up tonight.

“The Ice Wolves are a kingdom that we haven’t had too much success with so far this year,” he noted, “They have beaten us in three games already, so we can’t let our guards down now, we need to pull together to make this another win.”

The puck drop for this intense meeting is at 7:30 p.m., come on down to the WCEC to cheer on the Klippers!
