With the interest generated in the Raiders seniors men’s baseball team, several people in the Kindersley area have decided to create a new team, dubbed the Kindersley Stallions.

“We decided that the players needed more playing time,” commented team manager, Austin Jamieson.  “So we started up the Stallions; it’s still early in the season, but so far [the team] is looking pretty good.”

Currently, the team boasts 17 players and hopes to grow as the season progresses.  Built in an open style, the team hasn’t yet elected an official coach so when one team member, Thomas Suhaime,  found himself sitting on the bench with an injury; the team elected him to coach the team.

“It is hard for him and us, that he can’t play with us this year,” admitted Jamieson. “But the silver lining is that he can watch us and give us some ideas and pointers on how we can improve.”

The Stallions first game of the season will have Kyle Donaldson pitching against the Kindersley Klippers on Tuesday, May 16th in Berard Field.

“The Klippers have a good team,” observed Jamieson, “and with this being our first game, we will have a chance to show everyone what we are made of.”
