Testimony sheds light on strife within family of shooter
The aunt of the teen responsible for the January 2016 shootings in La Loche says her family has forgiven him and says he’s a changed person now.
The aunt, who can’t be identified because the shooter was a youth at the time of the killings, addressed a courtroom in Meadow Lake Thursday as part of the shooter’s ongoing sentencing hearing.
“If he was a different person, if he was a violent person, if he was involved in the justice system [before the shootings], I don’t think we would have forgave that easily,” she said.
