Wildlife Always Return for Their Baby

While it may seem like a good idea to take home ‘Bambi’, the Kindersley RCMP would like to remind the public to give the wildlife the space to take care of their young. Deer, Moose and Antelope often walk away from their babies to find food or water but they are never far away and always return. When you find a baby deer please stay away and give the mother deer space to care for her young.

According to the Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management officers you must LEAVE animals alone. Section 33 of The Wildlife Act states you could be fined up to $1000 for being in possession of a wild animal, even a baby animal.

If there is a situation where you are certain the baby has been abandoned, please call the Ministry of Environment Tip line at 1-800-667-7561, and leave the baby until an officer can get there.
