Kindersley was treated to at least two RCMP musical performances this past weekend; giving locals a rare opportunity to meet both the officers and the horses of the RCMP on a personal level.
With only one other live performance under their belt, the officers and their gorgeous black horses wowed the crowd with their excellent horsemanship and intricate riding patterns. A studied attention to timing and to cues from fellow officers, the horses and riders performed complicated maneuvers such as “The Wagon Wheel”, “The Farris Wheel”, and “The Maze”. As if this wasn’t exciting enough, the performers thrilled the crowd with a timeless “charge of the horse,” sending more than one local to their feet.
This 2017 tour of the RCMP Musical Ride is in honor of Canada’s 150 Birthday on July 1. In this tour, the Musical Ride will criss-cross our broad country from May until September, delighting thousands from British Columbia to Newfoundland.
