Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for R.M. of Kindersley, including Kindersley Brock and Flaxcombe, R.M. of Oakdale including Coleville, R.M. of Progress including Kerrobert and Luseland, R.M. of Snipe Lake including Eston and Plato

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Kindersley and area. According to Environment Canada, the conditions are favourable for the development of sever thunderstorms which may or may not be capable of heavy rain, large hail, and strong wind gusts.

Thunderstorms have been developing this morning along the Alberta border, the thunderstorms are expected to head eastward across central Saskatchewan this afternoon and evening. Since the area already has heat and humidity some of these thunderstorms may become severe.

Be advised to monitor the weather and take safety precautions, strong winds can break tree branches and large hail can damage buildings and property. Follow proper safety protocols in regards to lighting, remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Please be advised that severe thunderstorms can create tornadoes.
