Pilots reported the coyote on the runway as the plane approached Regina International Airport

Pilots are familiar with the dangers of wildlife near big city airports.

Aircraft sometimes hit birds as they take off and land, but it’s not as common to strike large animals such as coyotes.

However the pilots of a Regina-bound airliner from Toronto reported an unusual wildlife strike late Tuesday night.
