It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Max Boychuk of Eatonia, SK on Monday, August 21st, 2023, at the age of 66. He is predeceased by his parents Joe and Jean Boychuk. He is survived by his wife Leanne and daughters Megan (Clint) Hayes, Jenelle (Jesse) Taylor and Kellie (Alex) Thomson, and his sister Natalie (Tom) Berryere. Terry was a Dido to nine grandchildren: Kayla, Hudson and Oaklyn Hayes, Grady, Hayden and Carsyn Taylor, Will, Emily and Haylee Thomson.

Terry was born in Kindersley on June 16th, 1957. He spent his childhood and young adult years in Saskatoon, SK. He attended high school at Walter Murray Collegiate and then pursued schooling in the Apprenticeship Carpentry Program at Kelsey. His weekends in the summer were spent at the family farm in Eatonia, SK. Terry was an esteemed curler in his younger days, having won a Saskatoon City High School Championship and he then curled in the Super League. He was part of the Pavlychenko Ukrainian Dance Group and had the opportunity to travel to Spokane, Washington to perform at the World Fair. Terry always liked to be well prepared and even took his toolkit along on this trip, because you just never knew when you would have mechanical problems. After graduating high school Terry worked for Boychuk Prefabrication and then Boychuk Commercial Construction in Saskatoon. Terry married Leanne Perkins on June 16th, 1978, and began their 45-year long marriage together. In 1989, Terry & Leanne took training to become weather observers and relocated the family to Meadow Lake, SK, where they ran the Weather Office for close to three years before deciding to move back to family roots in Eatonia. Terry farmed with his dad for many years and then took over after his dad’s passing. In addition to farming, Terry worked various jobs through the span of his life. These included oil field work, semi-driving, and construction, but it was his last job at Peavey Mart that brought him the most satisfaction as Terry was very personable and knowledgeable in various areas. In fact, Leanne refers to him as “Mr. Peavey Mart.”

Without a doubt, Terry’s pride and joy were his three girls. He especially loved to cheer them on from the sidelines at their volleyball and basketball events. He continued to cheer on his girls throughout their lives in their journeys in postsecondary education, employment, marriage and then parenthood. He thoroughly enjoyed having sons-in-laws and looked forward to family get-togethers.

His interests included camping, fishing, cooking, baking, gardening, and pampering his beloved dogs that he had over the years. He valued a well-cooked meal and was proud of his Ukrainian heritage. The weather channel was always on TV, but Terry was the most accurate weatherman around if you asked him. He had an uncanny talent to strike up a conversation about anything and was quite the comedian. Terry could be counted on to stay in touch and always made the effort to call others. His daily calls and the sound of his laughter will forever be missed. Gone, but forever in our hearts.
