The family of Antonina “Toni” Staples are deeply saddened to announce her passing on Monday, November 27th, 2023, at the age of 98.

Antonina (Toni) Staples August 15, 1925 – November 27, 2023.

Toni passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023 at the age of 98 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Toni was born in Poland on August 15, 1925. She was 3 years old when her family moved to Canada from Poland.

Toni received most of her public school and highschool education in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. She then went on to Toronto, Ontario to live and work and while there she took a course in Fashion Design. She was an accomplished seamstress and did tailoring for Staples Men’s Wear for many years.

While visiting her mother in Kirkland Lake she met Don. He had been discharged from the war and was visiting his sister before heading home to Kindersley. After 3 years of corresponding through letters back and forth, they married in Kindersley on March 16, 1949.

Toni loved to garden, enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, writing poems, baking, bowling and curling. She served on many committees in the community and was a life member of the United Church U.C.W. and Legion Auxiliary.

Toni was dedicated to many things which she took great pride in, but most importantly to her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Lorne (Arlene), daughter in law Denise Staples, grandchildren Marty (Alana), Mark, Ryan (Tara), Malorie (Darren), and Carly. Great grandchildren- Maren, Emery, Adele, Nixon, Davis, Griffin, Capri, Mayzie, and Amara.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald, son Allan and many close friends and family members. The family wishes to thank everyone for their words and actions of kindness during this difficult time.
