Klippers vs Humboldt

By Kevin Martin

Friday night the Kindersley Jr. Klippers took on the visiting Humboldt Broncos at the “Hanger”, aka the West Central Event Centre. Although the score wasn’t in our favour; we lost 3 to 1, the boys really played hard and never gave up. Cody Jaman played exceptionally well in net and kept us in the game.

And we had our chances with breakaways and goal posts hit but stellar netminding by the Humboldt goalie Jared Picklyk stymied the boys in blue and green. Our latest additions to the squad, local lads Cam and Cobe Perlinger played well and looked like they fit right in.

Saturday night will be a return match back in Humboldt where the Jrs hope to exact a little revenge and even the score.

Humboldt outshot Kindersley by a 48 to 32 margin. 695 fans in attendance saw a hard working team play very well but the puck just wasn’t bouncing our way.

Next home games for Kindersley are Friday and Saturday, February 17th and 18th when the LaRonge Ice Wolves come to town for a pair of games. Puck drops as usual at 7:30.
