Spears Hints at Possible Second Memoir

Pop singer Britney Spears has hinted at plans to release a second volume of her impactful memoir, “The Woman in Me,” in 2024.

Spears took to Instagram to share a video featuring a man playing a drum-like instrument with a gavel, accompanied by a caption revealing the forthcoming second volume.

“Humor is the cure to everything !!! Play on !!!” she wrote in the caption. “Volume 2 will be released next year … get ready!”

Nevertheless, sources close to Spears have informed Variety that there are no plans for a Volume 2.

Britney Spears’ “The Woman in Me,” which was released on October 24, contains several shocking revelations by the pop icon. These include her admission to undergoing an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake, her intimate encounters with Colin Farrell, Justin Timberlake faking a “blaccent” in front of singer Ginuwine, and her involuntary hospitalization by her father after refusing to continue with Las Vegas residency dates.

The memoir also delves into Spears’ struggles in seeking freedom from her conservatorship.

“My voice had been used for me, and against me, so many times I was afraid nobody would recognize it now if I spoke freely. What if they called me crazy? What if they said I was lying?” Spears wrote.

In a review for Variety, Stephen Rodrick characterizes Spears’ memoir as an insightful commentary on how the media often impacts and undermines young, successful women. “Talk show hosts and paps have expressed regret that they turned the Princess of Pop into a hunted animal, and the object of scorn. We talk about how we all have learned our lesson. Don’t bet on it.”
