Saskatchewan is slowly but surely returning to its new normal with this morning’s kick off of Phase 3 of Re-open Saskatchewan. A welcome reprieve following Phase 2, which was released on May 19th, Phase 3 opens many service businesses that were previously not allowed under Phase 2 and allows for larger gatherings of people.
The services that are now able to open by following safety guidelines include gyms, childcare facilities, restaurants and licensed establishments, places of worship and businesses such as hair, tattoo, tanning and beauty parlors.
“All businesses that are eligible to re-open must follow the guidelines in the Re-Open Saskatchewan plan and the current public health order,” the May 21st press release noted.
Kindersley based businesses that are responding to the Phase 3 re-open include Busted Barbell Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Kindersley Bodyfit Fitness Lounge, Nails by Mikayla Long, Organic Tan Kindersley, A Blessed Home Childcare, and others. SARCAN has also opened its doors for bulk orders by appointment only, and aims to have public access hours starting on June 15th.
Indoor gatherings have been increased to 15 people, and groups of up to 30 people are acceptable out of doors. While it sounds like a great time to gather some neighborhood families together and crash a park, a government press release on June 4 noted that while green spaces are open, families need to keep in mind that playgrounds and beaches remain closed across Saskatchewan.
The June 4th press release predicted that Phase 4 will roll out in two parts, with the first part opening child/youth day camps and outdoor pools and spray parks, and the second part opening indoor rinks and pools, libraries, museums, galleries, movie theatres, casinos, and bingo halls. To date, no date has been given for the coming of Part I or II of Phase 4.
