Trump Will Not Be Removing Names of Confederate Leaders From U.S. Army Bases

After U.S. Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy and Secretary of Defense Mark Esper indicated earlier this week that they were open to holding a bipartisan conversation about potentially removing the names of Confederate generals from American forts, President Trump tweeted Wednesday that his administration “will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations.”
