Teachers Withdrawing Noon Hour Support on Feb 8
The Sun West School Division has released the following statement in response to teachers withdrawing their noon hour support:
“Sun West School Division has been notified that on Thursday, February 8, 2024, there will be a provincewide withdrawal of noon hour supervision by all members of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation.
Due to this, STF members will not be available to supervise students when they are eating or participating in noon hour activities.
Principals will be enacting a supervision plan created in the event of withdrawal of services. Specific information will be shared by your school.
There will be no disruption to the supervision of students during recess.
In the interest of student safety during this withdrawal of service, we are encouraging parents to pick up their children or have them walk home for lunch if possible.
We respect the collective bargaining rights of all Sun West employees. Our focus is always on student safety and in the event of job action, minimizing disruption to student learning.”
