LaBrash Concert Cancelled in Wake of COVID-19 Spike
By Mallorie Rast
This weekend’s drive-in concert with Justin LaBrash and the True North band has been cancelled after the West Central area reported an increase of COVID-19 cases.
Scheduled for this Friday at the Kindersley Mall parking lot, the concert aimed to treat Kindersley to some country music, stemming from LaBrash’s originals to remakes of Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, and Keith Urban among others.
“This event is unfortunately postponed due to the recent COVID outbreak in the area,” said Kindersley Mall Senior Marketing Associate, Jesse Manastyrski, when contacted for a quote.
Earlier this week, Saskatchewan reported 56 new cases over Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and areas with active cases include Maple Creek, Biggar, Harris, Perdue, and Newcombe.
After the event’s charitable partner expressed some concerns on hosting an event in light of the spike of COVID cases in the province, the LaBrash team agreed to make the decision to postpone the event.
LaBrash still hopes to come to the Kindersley area, but the concert’s new date is yet undetermined.
