Canadian Author Pens Deal With Harry and Meghan

A romantic novel penned by a Canadian author has been secured for screen adaptation by a production company associated with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Carley Fortune, sharing her excitement on Instagram, revealed a collaboration between herself, Netflix, and Archewell Productions, owned by Prince Harry and Meghan. The project involves adapting her work “Meet Me at the Lake.”

The narrative of the book revolves around a couple in their 30s who find themselves on an unplanned, transformative escapade across Toronto, the very city where Meghan and Harry’s paths crossed.

While the medium of adaptation—film or series—is not specified in the post, Fortune expressed the profound significance of the book’s love story to her and expressed her delight in partnering with such a fitting entity.

The creation of the book was a monumental personal endeavor for Fortune, and witnessing its recognition through this avenue is an overwhelmingly incredible experience.

Having relinquished their royal responsibilities in 2020 and relocated to the United States, Prince Harry and Meghan have since embarked on numerous ventures, including a collaboration with Netflix for productions and the establishment of the non-profit Archewell Foundation.
