Klippers VS Melville

The old saying “Me thinks he doth protest too much” seemed to be the order of the evening for the Kindersley Jr. Klippers. It seems that the officiating was less than accurate and head coach Clayton Jardine told the referees what he thought and paid the price by being ejected from the game in the 3rd period.

There were missed calls and non calls and the frustration level grew by leaps and bounds. It seemed like an endless stream of players from both teams making the penalty boxes a 2nd home. The visiting Melville Millionaires certainly agitated our boys to the point where retaliatory penalties occurred. That being said, Melville did what they needed to do to get the job done.

The unfortunate result was the Klippers losing 6 to 3. Kindersley, Melville and Nipawin were all tied with 36 points leading into tonight’s match up. With Melville now at 38 points, the Jrs. are tied for 6th place.

A 10 day break is on tap for the boys and that’s a good thing as that gives some of the players time to recuperate and rest up. Kyler Smith twisted his knee, Cody Jaman left the game in the 1st period with an undisclosed lower body injury. Cash Arnsten is again resting after a head injury on their recent road trip and captain Logan Linklater is working to get his ankle in game shape.

Brock Mueller played a strong game and potted a goal, as did Brock Evans and Tylin Hilbig.

Next home games are February 2nd and 3rd as the Weyburn Red Wings make their way to the WCEC.
