Today is “do or die” for the Kindersley Stallions
By Mallorie Rast
Today is “do or die” for the Kindersley Stallions as they hit Berard Field at 3:00 p.m. today.
This first playoffs game in the North Saskatchewan River Base League for the Stallions will be waged with the Meadow Lake Sox.
After finishing third in the league, the Stallions have been taking a breather after their final league game on July 27. Today’s game will mark their first playoffs game, and a win on the field will give the Stallions a mark towards the championship.
What makes this game different is that the Stallions and Meadow Lake Sox have not played a single game together this year. The Meadow Lake Sox had a rough season to start, then wrapped up their regular season with two brilliant wins, 14-0 and 20-9 against the Mervin Flyers. The Stallions have had a strong season this year, ending off their regular with a 12-5 win over the Unity Cardinals.
“We’ve never met the Meadow Lake Sox’s before, so this will be an interesting game for sure,” Stallion pitcher and shortstop Blake Robertson noted, commenting that despite that unknown factor, the team was feeling confident going into the game.
With today’s mild weather forecast, come on down to Berard Field at 3:00 p.m. to cheer the Stallions on!
