Kindersley Stallions Mark Season End at Semi Finals
By Mallorie Rast
The 2020 season was a good one for the Kindersley Stallions and ended only this past weekend after a semifinals game with the Lloydminsters Twins.
Overcoming the late provincial reopening through COVID-19, the team held their first league game on July 7 and finished 3rd in the regular season after their final league game on July 27.
The Stallions’ first playoff game was a home game with the Meadow Lake Sox on August 8, where they trounced the Sox in 3-1, propelling themselves into the Semifinals. In a slight twist of events, the Stallions faced none other than their first opponent of the regular season, the Lloydminster Twins.
The season officially ended for the Stallions on Sunday as their semi-final game in the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League ended 6-2 on the Lloydminster ball diamond.
The Lloydminster Twins will engage the North Battleford Beavers for the 2020 title this weekend in a best of three game.
