KAWS Has Been Hard at Work

KAWS Animal Rescue has been hard at work these past few months running events and placing animals in their forever homes.

Recently they held an adoption event on September 26th, where the public were invited to come see the cats and kittens that are currently available for adoption. “I would like to thank everyone that came out to show their support for KAWS. We hope to have another one in the up coming months with lots of cat and kitten adoptions,” says Jaisee Miller, president of KAWS.

KAWS has also come up with a creative way to help home barn cats, with a program titled “Barn Buddies”. The KAWS team often sees a lot of kittens and cats come into their care due to farm surplus and unwanted litters, which is a result of people not spaying or neutering their animals. Cats from the Barn Buddies program are fully vaccinated, dewormed and fixed, and are the perfect “barn” cat as they prefer being outside rather than inside the home. All you need to do is provide them with the appropriate shelter for the weather!

As KAWS is a nonprofit organization any money or donations that they receive, goes straight to the care of the animals whether that be food, vet bills, medical care, or anything else an animal might require now or in the future. To help ease litter requirements, Pet Valu is running “Thanks For Giving” during October with this year’s focus being a litter drive, where all litter donated by the public will be given to KAWS for the cats and kittens in their care. Anyone interested in donating can drop off a bag at their local store.

If you or anyone you know is interested in an animal, you can reach out to the KAWS team via Facebook, and they will happily arrange a viewing time.
