In the windows of several downtown businesses, they have posted a StoryWalk® with the book being “Deck the Halls, a Canadian Christmas Carol” by Helaine Becker and Werner Zimmermann.

“The library board thought it would be cute to do at Christmas time,” says librarian Marilyn Shea. “It was easy to do, I bought two copies of the book, and took one apart to use for the windows.

Along the way, residents will find the first two pages at the Co-op Pharmacy, followed by two pages at Dr. Brooks’s office, one page at Hub International. There are also, two pages at Nadine’s Hair and Beauty Salon, one page at Tashima Lifestyle Boutique and Spa, two pages at Pharmasave, one at Lela’s Music, one at Twisted Scizzors, and two at Kelly Insurance Brokers.

Don’t worry if you can’t remember all the locations either, because there is a note in the bottom corner to tell where to go next! Be sure to check out the Story Walk before the end of December, as the pages will come down in early January.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg Hubbard Library. StoryWalks® have been installed in 50 states and 13 countries around the world including, Germany, Canada, England, Bermuda, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea!
