U22 – Western Prairie Klippers VS Saskatoon Prairie Blaze

‘Twas a beautiful late fall day on the outside and the sounds of pucks and skating on the inside at the West Central Events Centre in Kindersley as the visiting Saskatoon Prairie Blaze came to town to take on the hometown Western Prairie Klippers.

The score ended up 5 to 0 for Saskatoon as their goaltender, Brooke Archer secured the shut-out. Mind you, she wasn’t tested that often as the “Stoon defence played well and didn’t allow many shots on goal. In fact, Kindersley was outshot 40 to 9! By way of comparison, our own goalie, Rilyn Roadhouse was tested on numerous occasions and fortunately for her our defence some blocked shots and deflected some passes out of her way. Otherwise, it could have been a much larger score.

Some of the Saskatoon players seemed taller and as a result, had a longer reach with their sticks and deflected many of our passes. Our girls may have been a little tired as they had played last night and not a lot of rest in between games. They seem to be fatigued at the end of the game. All that aside, Kindersley has a decent team that just needs some more time come together. Coach Dale Jackson and his assistants have a good core of players that can only get better!

Next home game is November 11th against Outlook. Puck drops at 7:00 pm.
