Amber Alert: Children May Be Off Grid After Pre-Planned Abduction

As the Amber Alert in B.C. continues, authorities suspect that the alleged abduction of two children was carefully pre-planned, and the adults involved may have intentionally gone “off the grid.”

The missing children, eight-year-old Aurora Bolton and 10-year-old Joshuah Bolton, are believed to be accompanied by their mother Verity Bolton, her boyfriend Abraxas Glazov, and their grandfather Robert Bolton. The police have released photos of all the adults involved, as well as the children, in an effort to aid in their search.

In an update on Monday, the Surrey RCMP shared credible information suggesting that the group might be living in trailers somewhere in a rural area. They emphasize the crucial role the public can play in locating Aurora and Joshuah, urging everyone to be vigilant and report any tips or possible sightings.

Authorities provided additional details about Abraxas Glazov and Robert Bolton. Glazov is described as an outdoorsman with a history of living off the grid. He hails from Nelson, B.C., and has connections to the Deadman Valley and Vidette Lake areas. As for Robert Bolton, he was last seen at his home in Chilliwack on June 30, and there are concerns about his health, suggesting he might be confused or disoriented.

The group is believed to be traveling in a dark blue 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 with B.C. license plate SJ2708, which is towing three different trailers.

Despite receiving over 180 tips, there have been no confirmed sightings of the group outside of B.C. The children were last seen on July 7 at a gas station in Merritt, while their mother was last spotted on surveillance video at a grocery store in Kamloops on July 15.

Normally residing with their father in Surrey, the children had left with their mother on June 28 for a planned vacation in B.C.’s Okanagan region but were not returned as scheduled on July 17.

Mounties are now directing tips related to the Amber Alert to a dedicated phone number: 604-599-7676. Tips can also be provided by emailing surreyamberalert@rcmp-grc.gc.ca, police said.
