KAWS: Reminder We Are on an Intake Freeze
KAWS animal rescue has currently had to implement an immediate intake freeze due to lack of foster homes. If you are looking to donate to please message KAWS via Facebook and they can make arrangements! They take cash, cheque and e-transfer. You can also make food and litter donations!
Even if you can’t adopt or foster, there are still a few ways you can help lend a hand to KAWS!
Adopt. Adopt don’t shop! Adopting an animal from a local rescue not only saves the life of that animal but opens up spot for new animals that need saving. An added bonus is that adopting an animal through your local rescue will save you money. All animals through KAWS come fixed (or they pay for the spay/neuter at 6 months of age). Their animals come with up-to-date vaccinations, microchipped and dewormed. This also helps you be apart of the solution and not the problem, getting a free animal is never free if you do the necessary vetting and most free animals come from surplus’s animals where they will never be fixed and continue to breed whether that is accidental or on purpose.
Spread the word. Share posts from your local rescue. Whether that is fundraisers they’re having, animals that are up for adoption, or any other posts as the further the word goes the more help the rescue will get.
Volunteer. See what’s going on with KAWS, they may have events they need help with, they may have dogs or puppies that need to be walked socialized.
