Local RCMP Working Closely With Sask. Health Authorities
“As the provincial police service, we are working collaboratively with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency and the Public Health Officer to ensure compliance with the recently updated Public Health Order for mandatory mask usage in areas within Saskatchewan RCMP police jurisdiction.
Our focus is to help educate members of the public of the health and enforcement consequences that are a direct result from people refusing to wear masks within the areas set out in the recently updated Public Health Order.
During times such as this, public safety is critical and these new measures play an essential role in ensuring everyone’s wellbeing.
The Saskatchewan RCMP continues to keep communities safe by responding to calls for service and working closely with Saskatchewan Health Authorities to investigate any potential violations of the Order. We must all continue to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by following the Public Health Order.
We are working closely with Saskatchewan Health Authorities to investigate calls for service that violate the PHO.
If you have general, non-health related questions about COVID-19 or have a violation of the Public Health Order to report, please call 1-855-559-5502 or fill out a Covid-16 Public Health Order Non-Compliance Reporting form on the Saskatchewan government website.
If the RCMP receives a report that someone was not wearing a mask and is outside of our jurisdiction, the RCMP would forward the call to the police of jurisdiction where the Public Health Order is in place.”
