Kindersley Chamber and CAPP Host Oil & Gas Zoom Presentation

Recently the Kindersley Chamber of Commerce and Kelly McTaggart, Community Engagement Advisor for the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, hosted an informative Zoom meeting regarding current and future movements within the Oil and Gas Industry.

Of the course of an hour, McTaggart shared both national and provincial oil and gas stats, where we as a nation stand financially on the global market, and our country’s overall contribution to the industry.

McTaggart also focused on where we stand currently as a province and what changes need to occur in order to keep Saskatchewan competitive in the oil and gas sector. A high point of the discussion was the current projects that are on schedule, which thankfully have not been derailed by COVID. These current projects will bring huge boosts to the economy while also increasing employment opportunities.

The latter part of the presentation was opened up for questions and answers, where participants also shared their thoughts on what we can do to share how important oil and gas is to us as a community.

“This presentation shows there is a positive future for Saskatchewan and our community as a whole”, says Jeff Soveran, Vice President of the Kindersley Chamber of Commerce. “Saskatchewan has a huge future for a long time in the oil and gas industry.”
