Sask. Party Nominations Tonight

After a lot of work has been happening for the Sask. Party nominations for the new Kindersley-Biggar constituency, taking place Thursday, December 14th, at the Kindersley Inn

The two official contenders in this nomination race are Randy Weekes, the current MLA representing Biggar-Sask Valley, and Kim Gartner, who currently holds the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Town of Macklin. This process commenced with the initial constituency meeting on March 31st and recently reached its nomination deadline on November 30th.

Randy Weekes presently serves as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan and has been actively campaigning for several months. He received an endorsement from a former minister back in September and has been hosting various meet-and-greet events since March. “I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s nomination. It’s been very rewarding meeting people across Kindersley – Biggar. I humbly ask people to support me tomorrow. I look forward to meeting constituents in the Kindersley office and being the Standard Bearer for the Saskatchewan Party in the next provincial election,” he shared with us.

Kim Gartner is deeply involved in local politics within the Town of Macklin. In November, he discussed plans to bring a nurse practitioner to Macklin through an agreement with the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

The upcoming nomination event is scheduled to take place between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM on December 14th. Individuals intending to vote were required to purchase or renew their Saskatchewan Party memberships before December 7th, although those with memberships that lapsed within sixty days of the nomination meeting will have the opportunity to renew at the door.

For further details regarding the nomination process, interested parties can reach out to The Saskatchewan Party at (306) 359-1638.
