Come Fall, ​Elizabeth Middle School Will Have New Vice-Principal

Elizabeth Middle School is getting a new vice-principal. Emily Knowles, who is currently a student support teacher and Personalized electronic Blended Learning (PeBL) mentor at Elizabeth, will take up the position in the fall.

“Emily is a proven leader with many solid achievements,” stated Randy Emmerson, Sun West Director of Education, “she has demonstrated initiative and an aptitude for implementing new ideas, which makes her a big asset for her school and community.”

Ms. Knowles holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina, which she received with distinction in 2012. She specialized in middle years education and is a recipient of the University of Regina Faculty of Education Academic Gold Scholarship and the YMCA Tom Perry Scholarship for Community Service and Leadership.

Ms. Knowles started teaching at Westberry Elementary School in Kindersley in 2012 and moved over to Elizabeth in 2015. She has taught most subjects in Grades 6-8 and has collaborated with colleagues to help adapt, differentiate and implement PeBL practices into their classrooms. As part of Elizabeth’s TRIAD she participated in the planning and execution of staff professional development and PeBL initiatives. She also provided a variety of Tier Three Reading and Writing interventions.

“I am very excited to continue to work with the incredible staff, students and families at Elizabeth Middle School,” said Ms. Knowles, “We have a great community and school culture and I feel honored to be a part of it as I continue my educational journey in this leadership role!”
