Locals Schools Will See New Faces This Fall
Two local schools will welcome new faces this fall. Kindersley Composite School will have a new vice principal, as Danielle Jamieson moves from D’Arcy school to Kindersley Composite School, and Elizabeth Middle School will see Meaghan Friedrick as their new principal.
Jamieson is currently principal of D’Arcy school, a small school located halfway between Rosetown and Kindersley consisting of 34 students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
“I will definitely miss D’Arcy school and the incredible people there. It has been a fantastic opportunity, one that will always leave a smile on my heart,” said Jamieson.
Friedrick, currently a vice-principal at KCS will be moving down the block to become the new principal at Elizabeth.
“We are very excited to have someone of Meaghan’s caliber take on this position,” stated Randy Emmerson, Sun West Director of Education, “she has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability at KCS and has solid credentials in key areas including cognitive coaching, risk assessment and trauma, mental wellness and Indigenous perspectives.”
Originally from Regina, Ms. Friedrick graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Education in 2006 and also holds a Master of Education in Curriculum Studies from the University of New Brunswick as well as a Post Graduate Certificate as a Community Health/Mental Health Practitioner from Lakeland College in Alberta.
Ms. Friedrick started her teaching career in Regina where she taught at elementary schools as well as Thom Collegiate. She also taught at an elementary school in Saskatoon before taking on a teaching position at Kindersley Composite in 2008. In 2012 she became vice-principal of KCS.
“I have enjoyed all of my time at KCS,” explained Ms. Friedrick, “and love the people, the community that has been built and the experiences I have had but I am looking forward to a change as it provides so much learning and growth. I know I will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy and learn while working with the staff, students and their families at the middle school. I am leaving with great memories and looking forward to new adventures.”
