Junior Klippers vs Notre Dame

The first win for the Kindersley Jr. Klippers under interim head coach Tyler Traptow is officially in the books! They got off to a fast start and kept the accelerator down. On the night that Tylin Hilbig was recognized as the RBC Community nominee, it was only fair that he scored the 1st goal.

Logan Linklater and Matt Mazzocchi each scored twice and “Links” made the highlight reel as he scored a beautiful between the legs goal. Returning from injury was Logan Cox and he rounded out the scoring. Goalie Logan Falk played very well. He let in 2 goals but he was screened. Can’t do too much about that! Final score was 6 – 2 for the good guys.

“Coach” Trapper and his interim team still have some work to do but at least the monkey is off their back. Seems like the team has bought into the program and when all cylinders are firing they are hard to beat. They play again on Saturday, February 25th against the visiting Melville Millionaires.

A sparse crowd of 390 took in the game and they went home happy. The game was delayed by an hour thanks to a mechanical issue with the Notre Dame bus. Let’s hope the final 7 games are as exciting as this one was! Go Klippers Go!
