Obituaries: Marval McIntosh

1944 ~ 2021 (age 76)

Marval McIntosh of Plenty, Sask passed away on June 14, 2021 at the Kerrobert Health Care Centre surrounded by her family after a short courageous battle with cancer. Marval was born in Dodsland, Saskatchewan on September 6, 1944 to Harry and Viola McCarthy of Plenty, Sask. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Doug McIntosh; her daughter Julie (Rob) Macleod and son Jamie (Barb) McIntosh; their Grandchildren Ryan (Lindy) Macleod, Jackie (Joel) Macdonald, Jesse Macleod (friend Kate), Jill McIntosh (friend Ryan), Tyler McIntosh (friend Madison) and Trent McIntosh (friend Maddie); And great grandchildren Waylon, Declan and Jake Macleod and Lucy and Will Macdonald.

She was pre-decessed by her parents Harry and Viola, and her brothers Stew and Wes. Marval loved her life in Plenty. She enjoyed figure skating, teaching power skating, curling, old timers women’s ball, United Church choir. Marval and Doug spent the first two years of their marriage in Plenty and moved to the farm in 1964 where the lived until 1993. They built a new house in plenty where Marval enjoyed starting a new yard and taking on many projects in Plenty including the rink, planting trees all around town, and making sure the cemetery trees and grounds got cared for. But her favourite project by far was the coffee shop she started with Laura Bielby where friends could gather and laugh and visit. The family will gather for a private service to celebrate a life well lived and loved.
