Up to 10,000 Japanese Fans Permitted at Tokyo 2020 Olympic

No overseas spectators can enter Japan but domestic fans will attend venues at 50 per cent of capacity. Fans must also wear a mask at all times, not shout or speak in a loud voice, and return home immediately after the event.

There will be spectators at this summer’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with numbers capped at 50 per cent of venue capacity up to a maximum of 10,000 people.

The decision was announced after ‘Five Party’ talks online with local organizers, the International Olympic Committee, the International Paralympic Committee, the Japanese government, and the government of metropolitan Tokyo.
