Thinking About Joining Citizens on Patrol?
Citizens On Patrol is a dedicated group of volunteers that offers a valuable service to both the community and the RCMP. They have three main goals:
· Deterrence of crime by providing a presence in the community by patrolling by homes and businesses through various means and acting as the eyes and ears for both the community and the police.
· Education of members of the public about crime prevention and crime prevention techniques.
· To provide an awareness of suspicious or dangerous activity happening within the community.
Kindersley has an active COP program which has assisted our Detachment on several occasions with detecting crime and helping businesses prevent crime. Our Detachment liaises regularly with our COP members and found them to be a great group of people who care for the Town of Kindersley and its citizens. They are always looking for new volunteers as well so if anyone is interested they can reach out to the Detachment to get more information on how to join.
