Chrystia Freeland Receives speeding Ticket in Alberta

Chrystia Freeland, the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, revealed on Wednesday that she had received a speeding fine for exceeding the speed limit while driving in Alberta.

“I was issued a speeding ticket while driving between Grande Prairie and Peace River. I acknowledge my excessive speed, and I commit to being more cautious in the future,” Freeland informed journalists during her presence at the cabinet retreat in Prince Edward Island.

As disclosed by an undisclosed government source, Freeland was pulled over for driving at a speed of 132 kilometers per hour in a rental car.

When questioned by Global News regarding whether this was Freeland’s initial speeding offense, her office declined to respond before the time of publication.

It’s worth noting that Alberta’s speed limits are set at 110 km/h on certain major divided highways and 100 km/h on most other roads.

The penalty for her speeding infraction amounted to $273, a sum which she promptly paid in full.
