INDEPENDENT LIVING – PERSON-CENTERED SUPPORTS – COMMUNITY LIVING
West Central Abilities Inc. is a partner of Community Living Service Delivery which is a branch of the Ministry of Social Services. CLSD’s mission is to support the development of inclusive communities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Together we are helping individuals access the best programs and services that will identify their dreams, goals and aspirations and help them to enhance their development and quality of life.
WCA welcomes individuals and/or families to inquire about our services. Families who are new to the community or have a loved one that is transitioning from school to adult supports to contact us early on to determine what specific programs are needed, and to find out more about the services we offer. Our person-centered supports help each individual to live their best life in the community of their choice. Supports offered are unique in meeting the needs of each person and their family through our respite services, day programs, community, or independent living services.
WCA’s team of care providers assist in the creation of identified programs; develop and monitor programs for individuals in accordance with ethical standards; and develop, implement, and evaluate training programs being used.
Our programs are designed to support the unique needs of those we serve. Our programs are designed to help individuals of all abilities reach their potential and/or obtain a higher level of independence. Individuals interested in day supports may participate in work and leisure activities and develop life skills. Examples include vocational training, employment experiences, life skills, socialization, and recreation. Other programs offered are designed to support adults living in their own apartments.
