Fire Burns Down Shell Lake, Sask. Curling Rink

Residents from the village of Shell Lake are devastated after losing their curling rink this weekend.

The curling rink was consumed by fire Saturday evening. According to one witness, the fire started late Saturday afternoon and by nightfall, the rink had burned down. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The local fire hall responded immediately and the Spiritwood fire department came to assist. As there were no hydrants in the town, local farmers helped to supply water.

At the time of writing, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
