Due to Border Restrictions WHL Will Limit International Play

The Western Hockey League has announced a series of changes to the 2021-22 WHL Western Conference Regular Season Schedule in order to deal with ongoing border restrictions.

As non-essential bus travel between the U.S. and Canada is currently prohibited, teams in the B.C. Division will compete exclusively against other B.C.-based teams, and those in the U.S. Division will only compete against other U.S.-based teams.

The WHL previously announced that clubs in the Western Conference would only compete against each other during the 2021-22 regular season.

The WHL continues to work with government and public health authorities in each of the six provincial and state jurisdictions located in WHL territory to ensure the health and safety of WHL players, staff, and officials, as well as the communities in which the WHL operates.
