COVID-19 Outbreak In Elizabeth School
Elizabeth Middle School students have now moved to online learning for the next two weeks, following a COVID-19 outbreak in the school.
Yesterday, families of Elizabeth Middle School students received letters confirming Public Health staff are investigating multiple cases of COVID-19, and that the outbreak was large enough for students to move to online learning for at least the next two weeks.
When an outbreak is declared, it is assumed there is an ongoing risk of exposure within the school and classroom notifications may not be sent with each additional case in the school during the outbreak.
Classes/students that have been immediately exposed to the virus are required to self-isolate, and anyone who is eligible to receive both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, including household members of students and staff members, is encouraged to do so.
Additional measures (including self-isolation of the affected classes ) to manage the outbreak include:
- Disinfecting of the school
- Move to online learning for the students
- Cancel all events /extracurricular activities related to students involved in the outbreak
