October is Agriculture Month in Saskatchewan!
During Agriculture Month, we recognize the contributions of the agriculture industry in our province. It is also an opportunity to increase consumer understanding of and trust in modern food production. Everyone is encouraged to celebrate their connection to food and food production through the theme, “#CelebrateAg.”
“The driving force of the Saskatchewan agriculture industry is the resilient, hardworking and dedicated individuals along the value chain who produce high-quality, safe food that feeds the world,” Agriculture Minister David Marit said. “Despite the challenges we have experienced this year, we have an incredibly strong, innovative and adaptable agricultural sector and that is worth celebrating.”
“As a province we’ve become more urbanized,” Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan Executive Director Clinton Monchuk said. “Opportunities to connect consumers and farmers are increasingly important in today’s world. Agriculture Month offers an opportunity to engage and build trust with Saskatchewan residents by using the hashtag #CelebrateAg.”
