Mule Deer Buck Shot and Left West of Leader, SK
On the afternoon of November 1st, 2021 Leader Conservation Officers were contacted about a mature mule deer buck that that was shot and left, 4 miles west, 1-mile north, and ½ mile west of Leader, Saskatchewan.
The area is locally known as the “Westerham” area. The buck was located near the old railway bed. This deer was not sick. It was a large body animal in good health. The deer was shot in the chest cavity and would not have gone very far. Unfortunately, the deer was left to waste and no attempts to retrieve were made.
Conservation Officers have collected some evidence but need the public’s help is needed to solve this case.
