The first weekend of the Kindersley and District Plains Museum’s Drive of Lights was a huge success!
As visitors entered the Museum of Lights, they were met with a loving tribute, honoring their friend Eugene Heit who was a major contributor to the event since it began in 2019.
It’s that time of year again, the Kindersley and District Plains Museum Drive of Lights is here!
Following the success of previous years, the museum is once again hosting this community celebration. Fridays and Saturdays from December 3rd to the 18th, residents are invited to enjoy the drive of lights from the comfort of their vehicle. This year, Kindersley Social has donated a radio transmitter, so when residents are driving through the lights they can tune in to 107.9 to listen to a Christmas playlist created for all ages.
“The Museum continues to do the drive of lights each year because we know it brings so much joy to the residents of Kindersley. We’d like to thank our volunteers for bearing the heat in September and October, the cold in November and December, and the pandemic to bring this event again in 2021,” says Anna Polsfut, museum secretary.
While the hope is for 2022, is that the event will be back to “in-person”, this hasn’t stopped many businesses from offering their support for this year’s event. “We would really like to thank our sponsors. We were able to invest in some new lights and cords, as well as continue to provide PPE to our volunteers. And finally, thanks to the community for taking the time to check out the Museum of Lights, we can’t wait to see you!” says Polsfut.
