Rosetown RCMP Share Multiple Scam Calls Are Circulating
Rosetown RCMP have shared that there have been numerous reports of scam phone calls. The nature of the calls includes individuals telling people that their SIN in being suspended. Another scam involves the callers identifying them as Canada Border Security telling people there is a warrant for their arrest. Scammers are also requesting people to purchase iTune or Google Play cards and to give the numbers on the back of the cards. The scammers are also calling from 882 and 831 numbers. Police are reminding people to NOT give any personal information to unknown individuals and if, in doubt, always call the RCMP before agreeing to any callers requests.
December 3rd at 1:24 a.m. Rosetown RCMP received a report of mischief. Members attended and spoke to the complainant and subject of complaint. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.
December 4th at 9:15 a.m. RCMP received a report of a break and enter to the Rosetown hockey rink. The matter is still under investigation. They also received a report of a stolen truck from a farm yard in the Wartime area. The matter is still under investigation.
December 5th at 2:08 a.m. A request for a wellbeing check was received. Members attended and transported a female to Rosetown Hospital for assessment.
December 6th at 5:11 p.m. Rosetown RCMP received a request for wellbeing check. Members spoke to the subject of complaint. At 10:02 p.m. An erratic driver on Highway 7 was reported. Members were unable to locate the vehicle.
December 7th at 12:17 a.m. A report of uttering threats was called in. Members spoke to the subject of complaint.
December 9th at 11:35 a.m. RCMP received a report of fraud. There was insufficient evidence to proceed. At 8:10 a.m. A report of a vehicle collision with a deer was called in. There were no injuries – reported for insurance purposes. At 9:23 a.m. Rosetown RCMP received a report of theft of fuel from a semi. The matter is still under investigation.
In addition to the above calls, there were 26 Traffic related charges issued, 1 911 miss dial call and 3 false alarm calls.
