Obituaries: Marie (Aamodt) Knorr
The family of Marie Knorr are saddened to announce her passing on Sunday, December 26th, 2021 at the age of 91.
Hedvig Marie Knorr was born October 15, 1930, in Relingen, Norway. Her formative years were under Nazi occupation during World War II. In 1947, it was decided to send her to Canada for a better life. This is where she went by herself to North Battleford and lived with relatives and friends to learn English. She graduated with her RN from Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert and started working in Kerrobert in 1956. Marie finally retired from her calling in 1995. Shortly after arriving in Kerrobert, she met a farmer named Adam Knorr and they were married in 1958. Together they raised 4 children; Morris, Maureen, Ellen, and Sara, and is remembered fondly by them (and their families). Marie had been predeceased in this life by her beloved Adam and Sara.
Beloved wife of the late Adam M. Knorr, loving mother of Morris (Wendy), Maureen (Terry), Ellen (Denis), and the late Sara (John). She is also survived by her sister Marit, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, many other family members and good friends.
