Kindersley Curling Club Highlights Junior Curling Program
The Kindersley Curling Club took a moment to highlight their junior curling program!
This program is offered to children and youth ages 9-18 and teaches the physical and mental skills that make curling both fun and challenging.
“This year we have students aged from grade 4-9. We have been working on basic skills such as how to slide and sweep. We also work on strategy by playing a variety of mini games from the hog line in. Students have also been working on basic rules and etiquette of curling. We are hoping through this program that we can grow the sport within the community and give children the skills to play a sport they can be Involved in throughout their life,” said David Korchinski, Curling Club Instructor.
Junior curling runs on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-6:00 and there are eight curlers involved.
A special thanks to the West Central Saskatchewan Oilman’s Association for their sponsorship of the junior program.
