Portions of Highways Closed

Today’s storm is creating whiteout conditions in a large portion of west central Saskatchewan. There are semis jackknifed in the Swift Current area. A large swath of highways are closed because visibility is reduced to zero.

The closures affect portions of Highways 1, 4, 7, 21, and 37. Many communities including Swift Current, Kindersley, Rosetown and Shaunavon are affected.

Please delay travel until the storm passes. Highway professional crews will clear the roads quickly after the storm stops. Until then, they’re unable to keep up with nature.

Travel is not recommended. If you choose to travel, please remember emergency crews may not be able to get to you until conditions clear.
