Update on Yesterday’s Accidents
Yesterday when the Alberta Clipper hit the region, it was a complete whiteout leaving many stranded far from home. Highways were quickly closed throughout the province and, at the time of writing, many are only just reopening however, winter driving conditions still exist.
At 3:40 p.m. there was a collision between passenger vehicles and a semi, ten miles west of town near the weight scales.
“We were successful in a collaborated rescue of an injured person west of town with our local EMS. This person was rear-ended in a multiple vehicle collision involving a semi and passenger vehicles,” said Fire Chief Jeff Soveran.
By 5:42 p.m. all Kindersley Fire units were back in service.
Around 4:27 p.m., Kindersley Fire also responded to a multiple motor vehicle accident on Highway 7 near 7/11. Police had to reroute highway traffic to the northern service road. In addition to that, an unattended white vehicle with its hazard lights on blocked the eastbound lane.
Around 5 p.m. an ambulance was also reported stuck on 8th Street.
Many thanks to all our emergency services for their outstanding work, especially in yesterday’s conditions.
