Video: Yesterday’s Blizzard
Yesterday, Kindersley and area experienced blizzard conditions with poor visibility and blowing snow.
The blizzard was the result of an Alberta clipper, which brought fresh snow, freezing rain and strong northwest winds gusting up to 90 km/h to parts of southern Saskatchewan. For a large portion of the day, there was near-zero visibility.
As the day progressed, highways across the west central and southwest areas of the province including the Trans-Canada Highway in the Swift Current area and Highway 7 from the Alberta-Saskatchewan border to west of Saskatoon were closed.
